Computrol Seamless Applicator
Computrol has developed a new compound applicator for container closures that is capable of applying compound with no visible overlap.
- These units do not require a controller inside the liner upper turret electrical tank.
- Compound can be applied in one, two or three turns of lining depending on application targets.
- The new applicator can be retrofitted to an existing liner (reciprocating or rotary) or supplied as part of a new liner.
- The new applicator can be used with solvent-based or water-based compounds for can ends as well as plastisol for bottle caps.
- This model features improved lift control that provides reliability and repeatability from one applicator to another. What the HMI says is how far the needle will move...
- Production testing has shown repeatability of +1mg on 204 ends over 10 consecutive revolutions at each of 8 stations on a rotary liner.

The tank wiring is reduced to simple terminations...
All terminals are easily accessible, with no active devices...
Compare this to a tank using an Omron PLC...
which is crowded, with side mounted processor and difficult to access terminals. The I/O indicators are impossible to see with the tank wiring intact.
Here is a tank using a Systems Electronics Group PLC...
which features a rugged, high speed processor with top mounted terminals design specifically to fit in the liner.
