Press Safety Control System
In industry today, there is increasing emphasis being placed on worker safety. Many existing presses need control system upgrades to meet these new requirements.
Updates include redundant contacts for safety related inputs such as guard switches and Emergency Stop push-buttons and extra circtuit protection for outputs that control moving parts.
Computrol has developed and commissioned a control system upgrade for Stolle System 7 and System 8 conversion presses to meet these new requirements that can be scaled down for shell presses as well.
We used a Siemens S7-300 safety integrated PLC to handle the bulk of the project including safety functions.
The control system also includes an M4500 series PLC from Systems Electronics Group for a high speed front end and resolver interface.
